Start with the item list and hire dates
To book a hire, send us the equipment you need, the dates you need it for, and the address where it must go. If you are not sure on the exact model or size, give us the job type and the team will help you match the right item to the work. That saves time and avoids wrong bookings later on.
It helps if you include the expected hire period, whether it is for one day, a weekend, a week or longer. For emergency callout work, please say so upfront, especially if you are dealing with a pump failure, a power cut or a site stop in the middle of a job.
- Equipment name or type
- Hire dates and collection date if needed
- Site address or event venue
- Contact person and phone number
- Any access notes for delivery trucks
Tell us where the hire is going
We deliver across East London, Beacon Bay, Gonubie, Kidds Beach, Qonce and Port Alfred, and we work regularly along the Eastern Cape coast. Coastal sites can be trickier than inland ones because of sand, wind and damp air, so location details matter. A school hall in town is not the same as a beachfront event field or a building site with narrow access.
Please mention gates, stairs, soft ground, security checks or height restrictions, because these things affect delivery and setup. If the site is close to the ocean or exposed to salt air, let us know if the equipment will stay outside, since that may change the way we prep it before it leaves the yard.
- Street name, suburb and nearest landmark
- Loading bay, driveway or on-site access point
- Any municipal or venue rules
- Security contact if access is controlled
Add the job details that affect the quote
A proper quote depends on more than just the hire item. Generators need a load estimate, compactors need the surface type, pumps need the water depth and flow, and scaffolding needs the height and length of the structure. Party equipment also works better when we know the number of guests and the layout you have planned. A small mistake here can mean a return trip or a shortage on the day.
If you have drawings, measurements or a site plan, send them through with the booking request. For scaffold planning, a rough sketch is often enough to start with, but we will still check the final details before confirming. That kind of prep keeps the work moving and avoids delays once the crew arrives on site.
- For generators: appliances, tools or lights to be powered
- For pumps: water source, lift height and discharge point
- For compacters: soil, gravel or paving base type
- For event hire: guest count, venue size and timing
Choose delivery, collection or setup
You can book site delivery, equipment collection, on-site setup and pre-hire briefing depending on the job. Builders often prefer delivery straight to site before first light, while event teams usually want layout help so the gear is placed in the right spots before guests arrive. If you are working around load-shedding, tell us the times you need power or backup support.
We also arrange fuel management on selected generator hires, which is useful when the machine must stay on for long hours or through a weekend. If the job is in a place with limited access, say so early so the team can plan the right vehicle and enough hands for offloading.
- Site delivery for builders and contractors
- Collection when the hire is finished
- On-site setup for events and scaffold jobs
- Weekend hire and long-term hire by arrangement
What happens after you send the request
Once your request comes in, the team checks stock, dates and any special requirements, then sends a quotation back as quickly as possible. If something is unclear, we will ask a direct question rather than guess. That keeps the booking clean and makes sure the right gear is reserved for you.
If you are in a hurry, mention the deadline in the subject line or first message line. For example, if you need a pump by morning in Qonce or a generator for a Friday event in Gonubie, say that clearly. The more exact the timing, the easier it is to plan transport and prepare the equipment.
Contact the right team for the right job
Coastline Hire has been serving the East London area since 2008, with a team that knows both construction work and event hire requirements. Siyabonga Mhlabeni oversees the business, while the operations, fleet, workshop and customer support teams handle the day to day bookings. That means your request goes to people who understand the equipment, not just the paperwork.
For a booking, send your details to hire@coastlinehire.co.za and include the item list, dates and site location. If you are not sure about the item you need, ask for a pre-hire briefing and the team will help you work it out before delivery. It is a simple step, but it can save a lot of back and forth later on.
